What is FAR? And Why Does It Matter?

FAR - Floor to Area Ratio is calculated by a simple formula - total covered area of all floors divided by the plot area.  FAR ratio is set by the City and establishes guidelines for developers.  Ultimately FAR impacts the amount of density within a given area.
